This compact and versatile beehive compost bin won't look out of place anywhere in the garden. The Beehive compost bin is constructed from pressure treated 25mm (1") thick board and bolted together using four "finger-tightening" wing-nuts.
The pressure treating process is designed to prevent the micro-organisms from composting the compost bin itself, and the chemical used is one of the HRDA (The Organic Organisation) 'Safer Alternatives'. The process used ensures the preservative doesn’t leach out of the wood and gives an exceedingly long life expectancy without the need for any further application of preservative.
The exterior has been stained Tanatone brown.
Access is gained either by removing the lid completely, by lifting half the lid (which is hinged in the middle) by removing the front base board only or by removing the entire front which is attached by strong hooks and eyes.
